UPDATE: We wanted to bring our listeners an important update in the case of missing Jacob Dubios. Jacob went missing under suspicious circumstances on March 7th, 2021 in Schertz, Texas after agreeing to meet his friend Ethan. We aired our episode on Jacob’s disappearance back in March of 2022 and Crawlspace Media’s Jennifer Amell spoke with Jacob’s mom Silvia and his girlfriend Jali. In September of 2022 a San Antonio resident in search of forgotten gravestones and stumbled upon the remains of a young man. On September 27th, 2022 Schertz police announced that the remains that were found were that of Jacob Dubois. And on March 2nd of 2023 a Guadalupe County grand jury returned an indictment of Ethan Beckman for murder and evidence tampering or fabrication. So Ethan has been formally charged and is now awaiting trial in jail on a 1.25 million dollar bond. It’s difficult to express how badly we feel for Jacob’s friends and family during this time. It’s an unimaginable tragedy and we will bring you an update once the trial happens. Jacob Dubois was a young man in the prime of his life– silly, compassionate, and engaged to be married to the love of his life, Jali. Late one evening, his friend, Ethan Beckman, called and asked Jacob to hang out. Jali stayed up all night waiting for him to return. But, he never did. Now, Jali and Jacob’s mother, Silvia, are left to piece together what happened that night.
