The defense is trying to say that he's obviously mentally ill, and he's making these admissions, even though they aren't true.

Right, and then he says, why would I tell you I did it if I didn't?

He's actually addressing the issues that the defense is now trying to paint over.

Hi, everybody. It's Francie Hakes, former state and federal prosecutor. Jim, it's time to continue

our discussion and analysis of a very high-profile trial going on right now, the Delphi murder trial,

where maybe, I hope, justice is going to finally be served for Abby and Libby's terrible murder,

the murder of these two beautiful girls whose lives were cut short by some sort of monstrous human

being. The prosecution says is a man named Richard Allen sitting in the dock there in trial.

Jim, it's been a really interesting week in the trial, and I wanted to get your take on something in particular,

and boy, I sure would like to have Jim Fitz here, too, because we have words, lots of words,

and there were words and statements by the defendant, the defendant, that have been billed as confessions.

And you and I talked in our last couple of episodes about the evidence in this case and the physical evidence in this case really consists of one thing as far as I can tell so far.

And that is a bullet that was ejected from scientists say was ejected from Richard Allen's gun that was in his possession when his house was searched years after the crime.

Right. So actually it was found at the scene.

Right. The bullet was found at the scene, but the gun was found at his home. So were crime. Right. So actually, it was found at the scene. Right. The bullet was found at the

So there, there, there, there is one, one piece of physical evidence in that, in that bullet. But there's also

the video from the camera. There's also his voice. There's

also the jacket. There's also the gun. So it's actually multiple pieces of evidence that cross-corroborate
