0:06.0	This is part six in our Mark series and is called No One Wanted to Touch Him, but Jesus did.
0:14.0	This comes from Mark chapter 1, verses 40 through 45.
0:20.0	Last time, we heard how Jesus healed many people, how he went to a quiet place to pray, and
0:27.9	how he told his disciples that he came to preach the good news in many places.
0:33.5	And today, we hear a story that shows us something beautiful about Jesus, His compassion.
0:43.1	Let's jump right back in to our story.
0:49.4	Jesus had been traveling from place to place.
0:53.9	He had been preaching, place to place.
0:54.2	He had been preaching, teaching, and healing.
0:59.4	People were hearing about him, and the news spread fast.
1:05.2	Some whispered.
1:07.0	Is that Jesus?
1:09.8	Others hurried to see him for themselves.
1:14.4	And then one day, a man came to Jesus who was very, very sick.
1:22.2	A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees.
1:31.6	Listeners, you might be wondering, What is leprosy? What is a leper? A leper was a person with a very serious disease called leprosy.
1:40.3	And in Bible times, people were very afraid of it because they did not want to catch it.
1:47.8	So people with leprosy were often forced to stay away from others.
1:52.6	It was even unlawful to touch them.
1:55.7	They couldn't get jobs.
1:57.7	They were kept away.
