commentary as I could give you about accents and about the different associations that we have with the accents for each character in these movies.

All right? And so what we're going to do in this episode is actually listen to

samples of speech from the film. The purpose of that is to sort of investigate and

analyze the accents that you can hear and hopefully this is going to help you to be able to identify different accents in English and get a greater sense of familiarity with the different regional accents.

So remember we're talking about regional accents and then receive pronunciation and then

high RP or heightened receive pronunciation and in a very basic way regional

accents for sort of I guess working class a working class background then standard received pronunciation for a middle class background and then a sort of

posh accent, a heightened RP for an upper class background. Now that's very simple, almost maybe a

bit too reductive. Let's just start listening to some characters and we'll see what they sound like.
