Hello Heroes and welcome to another exciting episode of One Shot. I'm James Damato, your host in GameMaster.

Heroes this week we are playing Scotch and Soda, a piece of Gion Shim's new connected path game, The Shape of Shadows.

If you haven't heard of Geon's Connected Path Work before,

I might butcher an explanation of it.

Essentially, Geon has been designing solo play games

that connect journaling, crafting, and physical artifacts to gameplay.

They are also running these games as events where a whole community of people plays and experiences

the game at the same time.

And Gion has been using Kickstarter to make the connected path structure take the RPG world by

Storm.

Gion is fresh off the scripted themed field guide to memory and legacy themed Gideon Blythe with a theme that speaks very deeply to my soul because shape of shadows is about magic, magic,

and stage magic.

If you know anything about one shot,

you know that close-up magic is something close to my heart.

So much so that I sneak it in as a meme like probably a couple times every year.

Shape of Shadows takes connected path beyond the solo and journal play experience,

including things like what you're about to hear in Scotch and Soda,

which resemble traditional multiplayer tabletop role-playing games.
