Summary

Amanda Braun is back for round two! After almost two years as a swing on tour with Hamilton, Amanda needed a break from the road. Six months later was offered the role of Universal Swing. This week Amanda discusses diving into arguably the most demanding role in theatre, which ended up being perfect for her! She embraced the chaos, she loved learning and perfecting every track, and the experience now permeates the way she learns and performs in general. 0:24.7	Amanda first joined Hamilton as a swing in the original cast of the first national tour.
0:28.5	After a short break, she came back as a universal swing and had that role for two years,

0:33.6	what's possibly the hardest gig in theater. When we recorded these
0:36.4	episodes, Amanda was happily swinging on Broadway, armed with everything she
0:39.9	learned being a Universal Swing for all that time.
0:42.5	That's kind of her thing though,
0:43.8	because Amanda has this arsenal of knowledge and experience,
0:46.4	but she's never satisfied with what she knows.
0:48.3	And I say that in the best way possible.
0:49.8	It's a compliment.
0:50.6	The chaotic life of a universal swing was exciting to her.
0:53.7	The unpredictability, the last minute plane rides, perfecting every track on every stage for
0:58.1	every company, she loved all of it.
1:00.3	What's crazy is that when Amanda first saw Hamilton at the public, she didn't think she'd ever be able to actually be in it.
1:05.0	She absolutely fell in love with the show, but at the time, she didn't think she could do the choreography, which is interesting because in a way, she was kind of training for it her whole life.
1:13.7	She started at center stage dance and theater school at three years old.
1:17.2	And as a teenager Amanda looked up to and took classes from none other than Stephanie Clemens.
