Summary

Zuby sits down with returning guest Richard Cooper, author of 'The Unplugged Alpha', entrepreneur, and one of the most influential voices in men’s self-development. Richard explains his philosophy of 'unplugging', and shares how his upbringing, marriage, divorce, and business success have shaped his worldview. The two dive deep into masculinity, modern dating, feminism, family law, religion, and why Western societies are struggling. They also discuss Dubai, freedom, and how men can realistically navigate relationships in today’s cultural climate.

What's up, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls around the world. Welcome back to the Real Talk with Zubi podcast. Today, I am live in studio with a guy who I have known to some degree for many years. He's actually been on the podcast before. It's our first time meeting in person, and it's here in the wonderful city of Dubai, my now home. He is an entrepreneur. He's an author. He's got a big

0:24.2

following online with over a million subscribers on YouTube. And he's just a real, he's just a real guy.

0:33.5

Well, Rich, for my listeners who maybe didn't hear our last episode or who aren't familiar with you and your work, I've done a little intro there, but how do you describe yourself? Oh, it depends what you want to talk about. you want to talk about cars you You want to talk about the stuff that I read about in my books and my videos.

I think I'm most known for helping guys understand the reality of the world in which it actually works,

1:04.5

not the way that they've been told it to operate for them.

1:08.8

And there's often a disconnect, and I call that process unplugging. So I'm,

1:12.5

like the title of my book is the unplugged alpha, the first. And so I tend to help guys to unplug

1:16.2

from society's comforting lives to get the results that they want out of life.

1:20.3

Tell me about your life path that got you to the stage where this is an area of interest,

1:27.0

focus, and work for you. I think it's one of those things

1:30.0

where you have to make your wounds your work eventually at some point as a guy. A lot of the times

1:35.8

we subscribe to maybe a safe world theory. It's often a house of cards. And it tends to collapse

1:43.8

when you ego invest too deeply in beliefs and ideas

1:48.6

that don't work for you. So for me personally, I found that I was probably around the age of

1:55.3

about 39, 40 or so. You know, I found myself in a position where I found a good deal of success

2:00.2

in my business. I was an

2:01.1

entrepreneur, many employees received awards. I was married at the time, built a fantastic custom

2:07.0

home, a healthy new child in my life. But everything wasn't what everybody thought it was.

2:15.4

You know, if you know what I mean. Like, you know, they look at you're like, oh, your life's perfect. You're married to a lawyer. Everything's great sort of thing. But it wasn't. And I quickly needed to figure out why. And I'm the kind of guy that holds myself accountable. I try never to play the victim in the chaos that I create. And I always look for like the story behind the story, like, why do things operate that way?
