Terms and exclusions apply. Hello and welcome to me to episode 401 of real-life ghost stories, and I have two spooky stories for you today, and the last story comes from the 7th of October 2024. And story number one comes from Graham.

Firstly, I'd like to say that although I have a very keen interest in the paranormal,

I don't consider myself psychic, or in the least bit sensitive to residual energy in places such as old buildings, hospitals or cemeteries.

I live just north of Adelaide, South Australia, and after 35 years

working in a maximum security prison built in the late 1800s, I have heard many stories of ghostly

encounters that fellow staff members had experienced. Although disappointingly, I never experienced anything out of the ordinary myself.

My wife and I have both lost our parents over the last 20 years, and my youngest sister also passed away in tragic circumstances.

And I thought that if there was ever a moment that I would be contacted by the spirit world, it would be at one of those times.

But sadly, nothing occurred. No signs, no whispers or familiar sense of perfume or cigarette smoke, no apparitions of loved ones that so many of your listeners seem to experience.

Interestingly though, in the final days of their lives in hospital, we witnessed both my mum

and dad having conversations with deceased relatives that only they could see.

And although this may have been caused by the sedatives, it did seem to bring them much comfort, even if it did

freak out my sister and I. My own spooky experiences first began about 20 years ago, when my wife

and I and our eight-year-old daughter purchased and moved into a three-bedroomed house in the

quiet, leafy suburb of Greenwood, about 25 kilometres north of Adelaide.
