And today we're talking about Dario Argento.

Now, we've passed 400 episodes, and that means we're going to be just going back from time to time and doubling back and doing episodes. going back and looking back and being further back.

400 episodes in, your mind is slowly deteriorating. Yeah, so we'll be doing subjects and we felt

maybe we gave a little bit of a short shrift back in the day. Like Argento we did with Fulci.

That's right. For our first Chalktober, we burned through

two perfectly good

episode topics in one. Yeah. And also, we've just grown. We've matured as people. There are a few subjects we'd like to revisit and just see, how are they holding up, you know? I think we probably put both of those together because Argento is a filmmaker that I feel has been covered so much, like, to death, that we were like,

okay, we feel like we're not going to have too much to add on this subject.

Well, also, Dario Argento is, I mean, you know, I guess it depends on what sort of canon you're looking at.

But if you're talking about Italian horror directors, he's definitely

one who... Well, he's, I would say he's the god. He's the god. I mean, Mario Bava is possibly the other one who's been, like, most accepted in synephilic circles. I feel like Dario Argento's more popular, though, and his movies get watched more often. And Sysperia has become something of a, like, solid gold classic. And I think we wanted to compare

him also to Lucio Fulci who

you know, a huge cult following.

Yeah.

But a little more disreputable.

So it's funny because Argento, you know he's popular, because I was watching one of his movies was Emily last night.

And she's like, have I seen this?
