stream of thought conversation that's already been ongoing for hundreds of years?

What do you read for us the verse from Matthew?

And it is, I will point out, very convenient that you wanted to talk about this because I did indeed read this because we did every verse of Matthew.

However, we gave precisely zero commentary on the idea of salt in our original pass and I thought did I miss that

But no I think we just kind of lumped it all together with the light of the world, city on the hill.

You know, I think obviously they are connected,

but there's stuff to unearth, as you say,

in the idea of salt.

So we are in Matthew 5, verse 13, just this one little verse and we're going to get a whole

conversation out of it. We sure are and really mostly the first half.

So, okay. Take us away. You are the salt of the earth. Okay.

Take us away.

You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltness be restored?

It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men

Fantastic. Okay, so Bama might not have circled the wagons as of yet around this concept of being the salt of the earth.

And yet, many of us have probably heard sermons that included this verse in it,
