Shan currently plays Eliza in the West End and we've been having such a great chat.

Shan is a singer and a songwriter before anything else.

And that's always at the forefront of her career.

She grew up in a very supportive and musical household,

so no matter what gig she's doing, she's always writing and producing her own music.

I mean, she can't let that degree in music business go to waste, right?

Shan's professional career started with the Magic of Motown National Tour, which led to playing

Whitney Houston for three years.

And after the incredibly surreal experience

of making it to the quarterfinals on Simon Cowles' team

on X Factor, she landed the role of Eponine and LeMiz.

So that's where we're picking up in this episode.

Shan tells the story of her beautiful

journey with Eponine and how it got her ready to play Eliza Skyler.

And real quick, before we dive into it, I just wanted to take a second and say that this

is the 400th episode of the Hamelcast. Crazy, right? And in just a few weeks on January 30th,

2024, the podcast will turn 8 years old. I know, I can't believe it either. It is wild.
