Today is Wednesday, February 28th.

As I enter prayer now, Wednesday February 28th.

As I enter prayer now, I slow my body and quiet my mind, setting my whole being in the presence

of the living God who is ever present to me.

Recalling the day I've lived, treasuring its blessing as I look into God's face and laying its burdens at his feet. Oh, For the great king above all gods. Abba Father, in this Lenten season of prayer and fasting, I ask that you not only work through

my prayers, but work within me even beyond my prayers. The laying aside of one appetite with

the aid of your spirit gives rise to another.

Toon my taste buds to hunger for your presence,

my eyes to see your coming, my ears to hear your whisper, and my lips to savor your blessings which are

showered upon me each day even this one. Oh, reading from Psalm 95, come, let us sing for joy to the word, that a shout aloud to the rock of our salvation, that has come before

him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

For the Lord is the great God, the great king above all gods.

In his hand are the depths of the earth and the mountain peaks belong to him.

The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us bow down in worship.

Let us kneel before the Lord our maker.

For he is our God,

and we are the people of his pasture,

the flock under his care. At the end of this day I choose to once again redirect my attention to the God who is above all.

Today at times I was tempted to direct my greatest affection, desire, even my

allegiance to lesser things, lesser loves, to lesser gods.

Perhaps it was my work, my relationships, my success, my image, my comfort, my cravings.
