Hello everyone. Welcome back to the epic gardening podcast. Today we are going to address a problem that affects many home gardeners, especially those who are new to gardening and have less of an understanding about and less experience about how plants grow and what they need. So today we're talking about how do you revive a house plant that you may have neglected.

And I know I've done this in the past.

You know, some house plants can tolerate quite a bit of neglect.

Others are very sensitive and need intensive care quite often

in order to come back to life or even just grow successfully.

So here is a quick little checklist that you can do to make sure that your houseplants

get back to as the healthiest possible place that they can be.

You know, sometimes a house plan is just long gone.

If its roots rotted out or if it's completely dried out, yeah, there's not much you can do.

You can't bring a plant back from the dead once it's completely gone.

But many of these plants are quite hardy and they just need a little TLC

to come back to life. So here's a quick checklist. First of all, make

sure you don't overwater. So if you've overwatered your plants are probably going to be

droopy. These soils are going to be quite moist, potentially even able to squeeze water out of it if you take a handful and squeeze it in your hand.

What you need to do is tip the plant out of the pot, look at the roots, and see if they are rotted.

If they are completely rotted, 100% of the roots are rotted,

well then you kind of just need to throw that plants away.

If they are not, if there are still some white roots which are an indicator of health

then you have a chance so what you should do is throw away that soil completely

uh... get fresh potting soil

water it very lightly to settle it in because it doesn't need a whole lot,
