What's up, everyone? Welcome to another episode of the crazy ones. This is Alex here and I'm coming

0:05.7

back with a journal style episode. People have been loving this shorter format that focuses on

0:11.2

specific challenges and problems within building a business. And so before we hop into it,

0:16.8

shoot us an email at the crazy ones at MorningRoo.com and respond with one very acute challenge or

0:23.7

priority that you are dealing with in your business or your company right now that you would like to

0:28.8

hear us talk about on an upcoming journal style episode. I want to read part of a private

0:34.7

Twitter conversation that I had with a VC yesterday. I'm not going to say their name, but I'm going

0:40.2

to share some of the content of the exchange. This person said, and I quote, plunge your game,

0:47.6

1:10.8

of what was a lengthy exchange with this individual about the plunge, them sharing why they think I'm

1:16.8

wasting my time on it and me responding to their feedback. Let me start by saying this message

1:22.2

didn't feel good. It never feels good to have someone tell you that you're wasting your time and

1:26.9

your idea sucks. I actually think the wasting your time part burns more than the bad idea part

1:32.8

for me. But my purpose for sharing the story isn't to blow up this VC or say that what they did was

1:39.9

wrong. I do think they were genuinely trying to help me out and be the quote unquote bad guy

1:45.3

who tells it as it is when everyone is just patting me on the back, which by the way, I think

1:50.9

there's value in this because the most annoying thing in the early days of Morning Brew was having

1:56.0

family tell Austin and I that the product was perfect and we didn't have to make any changes.

2:00.8

But anyway, the purpose of this episode is to share strategies for productively handling the
