potentially around the world it seems like we're just, it's getting hot lately and that does have serious impact on your garden.

Now I did recently do a video on this so if you've checked that video out there's going to be nothing new in today's

episode so maybe just tell a friend to listen to this episode who might not already know these tips and go on about your merry day in the garden, but some quick tips for you on dealing with this.

First of all, watering early and deep in the morning, you really want to do that. You really, really want to get a bunch of that subsoil down below six inches or so, nice and moist, especially for your deep rooted plants, so that they can weather the storm longer and you're truly wasting less water

because you're burying in a sense that water much deeper in the soil where it can then be

drawn out and it is not susceptible to too much of that heat.

Now, the next thing to do is to employ a lighter colored mulch,

perhaps, but at the very least, a thicker layer of mulch.

So that's what I would say. I've personally been using a straw-based mulch that I'll have a lot more to tell you about pretty soon. It's called Garden Straw, but I've partnered with them because it's quite a big bag and it's actually cost prohibitive to ship a bag that large and so we've come up with a five pound back that'll cover a hundred square feet about two to three inches deep which is really nice, high quality mulch.

But what I want to encourage you to do is just add a couple more inches of mulch
