Everyone loves a good story and a good storyteller.

But there is no storyteller like the Lord Jesus,

and there are no greater stories told than the ones Jesus shared.

In this study, spiritual stories, we consider the parables Jesus told and their

application to us. These are truly the greatest stories ever told, and the Lord has something

he wants to say to you through them. Let's join Scott Pauli now.

As we have studied through these parables,

one of the things that has been very striking to me is how many of them are centered on the idea of expectancy. The urgency

preparation. There is like an overarching theme that binds them all together, and it is

this, the Lord is saying, get ready. We believe in the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ,

meaning he could come for the church at any moment. And when he does, it's going to set in motion

quite a series of events described for us in these prophetic passages and referred to in many of the

parables.

Today we turn our attention to Mark chapter number 13.

If you were paying attention when we ended our last study,

we read a verse in Matthew chapter number 24.

Matthew 24 was the passage of scripture that gave us the parable of the fig tree.

And you remember that our Lord said that we were to be watchful because no man knows the day or the hour.
