On Wednesday, July 5th, Instagram released threads a new app that is built by the team at Instagram that has a let's just say striking resemblance to Twitter

Well, it doesn't just have a striking resemblance to Twitter. It is Twitter in terms of its core functionality and its user experience

It's a text-based social platform meant for public conversations. You can post a thread in 500 characters or less, which is the same as tweeting

You can repost, which is the same as retweeting. You can like, reply and share just like Twitter

Threads is a very overt attack on Twitter while the foundation at the business bought by Elon for $44 billion appears to be shaky

And it is no surprise that later in the day on July 5th Twitter legal counsel sent a cease and desist letter to meta for hiring employees from Twitter
