I'm your host, Cory Muscara, and in today's episode we're going to talk about the four

S's of a healthy relationship.

First, let's settle in together with the sound of the bells.

Okay, so what leads to a healthy relationship?

Some would argue it's quite simple, and it reduces to four S's.

The four S's of healthy attachment, and these S's are safety, security, being seen and

soothed.

Now these were originally used for helping parents create loving bonds with their children,

but these same ideas can also be applied to a partnership, a relationship, and they form

the foundation for a healthy attachment and a loving companionship.

So let's break these down one by one.

The first is safety.

Now if you listen to this podcast regularly, you know I'm a big fan of safety.

I talk a lot about safety and the importance of creating an internal safety for ourselves

to experience the many dimensions of our humanness.

Now this also extends to others, especially a romantic partnership, but friendships,

any sort of relationships with your children, creating a sense of safety for them to feel

like they can express the different aspects of who they are.

This really, in my opinion, is the heart of intimacy.
