Today's planetary session is a special recording where I pool several of the monologues that I've been giving on the YouTube channel into a single audio file.

Well, we have big news this week.

It's the Paxlivid primary prophylaxis study.

They take people who are exposed to someone in their household with COVID-19.

They randomize them to Paxlivet or no Paxlivet, and they ask,

does Paxlivid, the drug everyone's a buzz about, prevent you from getting COVID-19?

And the verdict is in, it doesn't work at all.

It doesn't prevent you from getting COVID-19. Pfizer announced that their shares took a bit of a dip.

This is the drug that the Biden administration has thrown a lot of money in. Of course, it does

has randomized trial data showing that it works, the Epic HR study. That's a study of unvaccinated

people with a high-risk factor for bad outcomes with COVID-19,

and they were randomized within five days of symptoms to Pax Lovit or not. And it has a 89% relative risk reduction.

That's the relative risk. The absolute risk is if you're in that group and you didn't take PaxLivid, you have about a 7% chance of hospitalization or death, and if you did take Pax Lid, it drops to 1%. That's Epic HR. We also know about Paxlivid that it failed in

the primary prophylaxis study, that it doesn't prevent you from getting SARS-Cove 2 if you encounter

somebody who has it. So it's a very interesting drug. Now, Todd Lee and I wrote an article for City Journal. I'm going to put a link below, and we talk about how, for the biggest population of people,

which is people who've either had and recovered from COVID-19 or they've been vaccinated,
