You're in for a treat. I'm joined by John Yonidis. He's joining us from Stanford University.

He's going to give a portion of my research team a talk on COVID-19. When does the pandemic end?

What do you need to know about excess death? This talk is full of pearls. And so you don't want to miss this discussion.

John Yonidis, followed by a Q&A. This is really a terrific discussion.

So let me cut to the introduction.

And pretty much, I think, was the genesis of a lot of that work in that field.

The other thing, John, that I think people forget is I was just talking to somebody about the Hulu documentary, the dropout, about Theranos.

And I think people forget that even one year before the Wall Street Journal scandal was broken about Theranos,

that you had written an article in JAMA about stealth research and how sometimes we need to ask tough questions.

And of course, I think that turned out to be vindicated.

John, of course, has been a prolific scholar during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Must have published at least 50 or 60 publications by now with a growing citation trail.

And I think they are very important papers that cover things from the importance of vaccination,

but how to think about vaccination, work on long COVID and kids.

I saw really an important paper that came out recently, important work on IFR and other sort of things around that. And so I thought it would be great for John to take us through some of his

research and thinking on COVID-19 policy.

And of course, we're here for it live, but I'll try to make this available to as many people

as possible through the virtue of the internet. So, John, Yonite, thank you so much for joining us.
