0:10.9	today as he is traveling but fear not he's going to be back with us on Monday.
0:15.7	Donald Trump suffered three legal defeats and courts all across the country this week.
0:21.0	Let's dive right into it because he is not having a great time when it comes
0:24.5	to these criminal trials. Former President Donald Trump encountered significant legal
0:28.6	setbacks this week having to do with three out of his four criminal cases.
0:32.9	Two were over attempts to dismiss criminal charges outright
0:37.1	and one was over an attempt to delay the trial.
0:40.3	Turns out he lost all three motions.
0:42.6	Let's start first with the New York hush money trial.
0:45.6	Judge Juan Mirchan dismissed Trump's motion to delay the New York hush money trial
0:50.6	scheduled to start in just a couple weeks from now April 15th.
0:54.0	Trump's legal team had sought to postpone the trial until the Supreme Court
0:58.4	ruled on the claim of presidential immunity that he is using in his federal 2020 election case that's actually
1:05.8	succeeded in delaying that case at least for now until the Supreme Court hears this immunity argument.
1:11.3	So the idea from Trump's lawyers when it came to this New York case was maybe we can get this one delayed as well and of course if you're Trump you want to delay as much as possible, delay it until at least the 2024 election and beyond,
1:26.7	and then with some of these federal cases at least you have the chance of being able to pardon yourself
1:30.6	if you're found guilty. So Trump's lawyers were trying to
1:34.8	test their luck but Juan Marchan stepped in and rejected the motion as
1:39.3	untimely, emphasizing that they missed their opportunities to file such a motion to take legal action like this.
1:47.5	So once again, this comes down to poor legal work from Donald Trump's defense team if they had put in this argument earlier
1:54.6	maybe Judge Merchan would have been more amenable to it.
