0:24.2	with their birth genitalia. This is, I mean, listen, we, we've started to suspect that the
0:32.6	transphobic movement of the right and meshed with the MAGA right is really overplaying
0:39.1	its hand with the anti woke stuff. The polling suggests that the country is far more
0:43.5	woke than these anti wokesters want to pretend it doesn't seem like this is a way to win
0:49.6	elections. And yet they will not stop. This is the latest. It's probably illegal, but we
0:56.5	will get to that in a moment. Vice news reports, Texas agency threatens to fire people who don't
1:02.8	dress, quote, consistent with their biological gender. The internal department memo is just
1:10.6	the latest attempt by state officials in Texas to crack down on trans and gender nonconforming
1:16.5	people. This is the Texas Department of Agriculture. Their mission is to promote production
1:22.3	agriculture, consumer protection, economic development and healthy living, and apparently
1:27.7	the gender binary rights, vice news. This is a memo distributed last week saying you are
1:35.5	required to dress in a manner, quote, consistent with your biological gender. The memo obviously
1:43.9	aimed at trans and non gender, gender nonconforming employees says if you repeatedly dress the
1:50.7	wrong way, there will be, quote, corrective action up to an including being fired. Think
1:59.1	about that. This is and the article says the latest attempt by state officials to crack
2:04.0	down on trans people. Let's discuss a couple of aspects of this. First of all, could this
2:09.8	possibly be legal? My opinion, which is not my legal opinion, but that of legal experts
2:17.2	who whose opinions I've read is that it is not legal. Now anytime we say is this legal
2:23.0	and there isn't precedent, we're all just speculating. It's very important to understand
2:27.5	that if it's not already written into the law and if there is no precedent, all we have
2:33.5	is a speculation where we try to apply whatever law does exist to the facts of the case.
