After nine years of being with our team and frankly, very successful in making in the playoffs,

I shared with Chuck that we wanted to get further.

I wanted a new set of eyes on this team.

And we had a very good conversation, shook hands,

and we're going in a different direction. We're not good enough right now. What I want to have is a new set of eyes and take a look at where our strengths and where our weaknesses are and somebody will come in who doesn't feel an ownership to certain players.

And I want someone to take a look and what we can do to tweak our team.

This is not a rebuild.

And I'll be very direct about that when I'm interviewing a general manager.

If you're the new GM, do you think, and maybe there's more categories than this,

do you think this team fails to advance because of a skill slash talent issue,

because of a chemistry issue, some other issue, a combination?

Like, how would you start to look at this chessboard if you're a new GM?

I think that this team fails to advance in part because one thing that we just heard there that was dead on is the general manager felt ownership over some players, which would keep you from trading them.

And just I know a few people around the NHL that I talk to,

and I know that there was interest in lots of guys over the last few years on this team.
