Now, in our last episode, we discussed the Battle of the Coral Sea.

This was an important engagement, one which was technically a victory for the Japanese,

based on the number of ships they sunk, but it was a strategic victory for the Americans.

That's mainly because it was the first time the Allies had stopped a major Japanese advancement. Now, a second reason that this was a

victory for the Allies is that two carriers the Japanese used in the Coral Sea would be unavailable

for the operation against Midway. The Shukaku and the Zikaku were the two carriers that had been sent home to Japan

for a full refit, and the latter having suffered significant losses to its airwing. Now, if both of them
