Well, my friends, we're just about a month away from 420, and I got to admit, our annual

high holiday just don't hit like it used to.

I know I risk sounding like one of those cranky old

OGs about to start a sentence with back in my day, but back in my day, you know, weed was

illegal, and so everybody getting lit together in a big field was actually an act of civil

disobedience.

420 was about gathering your weed crew, sourcing the best herb the local underground could

provide and making a day of it. A chance to just forget about all the stigma and criminalization

and racist bullshit of the war on weed and act like it was legal for one glorious 24 hours a year.

Propaganda by the deed.

But lately, it feels more like 420 is just a very tiring day to work in the legal cannabis industry,

particularly in the retail sector.

Because for a lot of folks, it's become little more

than a day to stock up while the dispensaries are offering big discounts. The Black Friday of

weed. But fret not. Getting lit on 420 used to mean something special, and it will again. So on this

episode, to spark that return to glory, we're going to trace the origin story of our annual

high holiday all the way back to its roots as the singular creation of a small group of young

stoners on an epic quest way back in 1971. That's right. It's

time to recount the epic story of the Waldo's, but with a twist. This year we're not just going
