And Tanner joins us today to tell us about his very first elk hunt from this past fall.

It was a great story with a lot to share.

Some lessons learned that Tanner experienced and that you can learn from.

And really discovers a wide variety of topics and things that we commonly get asked about

from hunters as well.

So we dive into things like sleeping near elk when you're backpacking, how close should

you be, what things should you consider when doing so.

We talk about encounters with other hunters, what you're out in the field.

One unique thing, one of the many unique things I should say about Tanner's hunt is that

he hunted the same year in archery and rifle seasons in Montana.

And so you can hear about his experience of the differences between archery and rifle

hunting both with obviously things like the weather, elk patterns, elk behavior, hunting

pressure, things like that.

And really the story culminates with a pretty unique turn of events that led to Tanner's

success.

So this is just a great podcast with both a fun story as well as a lot of experiences that

we can learn from as well.
