| 1:10.2 | of the 18th, Dan McCooks and John Mitchell Spragades of Granger's Reserve Corps arrived |
| 1:17.3 | near J. Smith and Reed Spridge. |
| 1:20.2 | After having been ordered down from Rossville, in response to one of Minty's calls for support |

| 1:28.0 | When Dan McCook arrived on the scene, everything was quiet and there was no sign of Minty's |
| 1:33.0 | federal cavalry. |
| 1:34.8 | But McCooksman did capture some rear element troops from a Confederate brigade. |
| 1:40.6 | And so Dan got the idea that only this one enemy brigade had made its way across Chikamaga |

| 1:47.4 | Well, Colonel McCook was certain that if he could bag this lone rebel brigade, then such |
