Summary

Welcome to the WHTL Podcast, presented by Moultrie. Your source for Whitetail Deer Hunting Tactics, Stories & Expert Guests. In this episode, we're back in the studio with our best of 2025! We Discuss:
  • Deer hunting success is often timing—not proof a tactic works

  • Refusing to adapt is one of the biggest reasons hunters fail

  • Too much information creates confusion without woodsman judgment

  • Gun seasons during the rut destroy age structure

  • One-buck limits improve quality through hunter psychology

  • Unlimited nonresident tags reduce resident access and doe control

  • Fewer hunters can kill more deer with less pressure

  • Public land can produce giants with the right management

  • Mature bucks are far more fragile than most hunters realize

  • Access, pressure, and age structure matter more than genetics

And So Much More!

Number one, it came from some kind of refuge. And number two, that's the first time I handed that stand that year. I think almost every 200, except for one, under two, they've come off of that. And it's because he's got a road around the whole day. I would you guys really enjoy it. Thank you so much for the support this year. if there's specific gastropics you want to see in 26.

0:49.3

or maybe more confused than ever. Maybe you're sitting at the end of the season right now,

0:53.3

scratching your head.

0:54.3

So here we go. First leg of this with Bobby Worthington. Why is there more information now and

1:00.5

more serious deer hunters are more confused than ever? I'd have to say this two or three reasons

1:06.7

for that. It all stems from deer hunting is not what I would call an exact sport. I don't know if you

1:15.7

know what I'm talking about, but there's no script to it. There's only an outline. And so many people will,

1:23.8

so many people will kill a big deer doing one thing and they'll think that they can apply that every situation, and they're not.

1:31.4

They're individual personalities.

1:34.0

So there's only a few things that can put individual personalities that do individual things in the same place.

1:41.5

It's not an exact sport in that take up two other things I'm involved with competition archery.

1:50.0

It is an exact sport.

1:53.0

We walk up to that target with the people you're shooting against and we score that target.

1:59.0

They're all looking at it and watching and
