Smack dab in the Middle East, the biblical holy land. Israel has occupied space in your news feed

consistently throughout your life. But you probably never thought that it would be the focus of a surf podcast.

But the truth is, the young coastal country's financial hub, Tel Aviv, sits on the Mediterranean

and has had a small and passionate surfing community for nearly as long as the country has existed.

Dorian Doc Paskowitz is said to have introduced

surfing in Israel in 1956. The W.S. now hosts a QS there. The Godowskis brothers filmed an episode

of their series Down Days there back in 2015. And when anyone who's anyone in the surf business

comes to town, professional surfers, industry folk,

they all reach out to one man, Arthur Rajgavan.

Today, he joins us to explain the role that surfing plays in Israel, how he's sharing

surfing with the people, and why high-quality surfboards are the most essential ingredient to
