| 0:03.6 | He said the week before Thanksgiving, the giants are on the move. Many great hunters consider this time of year to be one of the best times to kill an absolute giant buck. I'm not saying it's that way every time, but I'm not going to miss an opportunity of being in a spot because the wind's not perfect for me. your days are numbered right now. It's not like, you know, not like you can wait a week. |
| 0:23.0 | You know, you wait a week now and you're eating your of being in a spot because the wind's not perfect for me. Your days are numbered right now. It's not like, |
| 0:21.5 | you know, not like you can wait a week. You know, you wait a week now and you're eating turkey at home. |
| 0:25.7 | And this week's episode of the White Tail podcast presented by Moultrie, we're talking about |
| 0:29.4 | late November and how you can capitalize on what feels like a fleeting opportunity. And this week |
| 0:35.7 | specifically can sometimes be real frustrating because you may not see a whole lot of deer. But if you're after that next level deer of the giant, that's when they're on their feet. That's when they're very, very vulnerable. They're tired. They're walking in a somber, so to speak. It can happen at any moment. It's by far the most exciting time for me. for me. If you're still holding the tag in your pocket |
| 0:55.0 | right now, you're probably run down and needing some motivation to keep going, but you come to |
| 1:00.1 | the right place. Here we go with Steve Pinkston. All right, Steve, welcome back to the White Tail |
| 1:05.5 | podcast. It's, uh, we're creeping into the back part of November. How you feeling? |
| 1:11.9 | Well, I'm, I'm still chasing out of state. |
| 1:14.6 | I was fortunate enough to tag my dear here. |
| 1:16.9 | Great talking to you again, by the way. |
| 1:18.2 | Thanks for having me on. |
| 1:19.5 | Always enjoy a conversation. |
| 1:21.9 | But yeah, I'm done here at Ohio. |
| 1:23.4 | I killed early and tagged my target buck and all good. |
| 1:27.2 | But I'm chasing in Kansas and in Illinois, And it's been, it's been a little challenging. You know, I'm seeing a lot of nice bucks, but nothing I want to shoot. And I've been spending a lot of windshield time, if you know what I mean. So. Yeah, that's part of hunting out of state. So I think right now, this is like when the tank starts to get empty. I mean, I'm starting to get text messages of, you know, are you still after it? Or, you know, like this is when everyone starts questioning their approach, their game planned, because they're still hunting hard. And I hate to be the first guy to say it, but it is going to get harder and not easier at this point in the season, as a general rule of thumb, in my opinion. |
| 2:04.4 | Where is your headspace at with an out-of-state pocket in, out-of-state tag in your pocket right now as we are in Thanksgiving week now? |
| 2:13.2 | Well, to me, I think a little differently when it comes to that week before Thanksgiving. |
| 2:18.3 | If you're out to see a lot of deer, you might be disappointed, you know, because the dozer avoiding the boys and, you know, things are definitely winding down, no matter where you are, starting to wind down. |
| 2:29.3 | But if you're after that next level deer or the giant, that's when they're on their feet. That's when they're very, very vulnerable. They're tired. They're walking in a somber, so to speak. It can happen at any moment. It's by far the most exciting time for me. Roger Rothart told me years and years ago and something I'll never forget.
