Luke 15:1–7 & John 10:11 In today’s episode, we continue our Names of God series with “The Good Shepherd.” We’ll hear Jesus’ story about the lost sheep from Luke 15 and discover what it means when He says in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” Through gentle storytelling and vivid imagery, children will learn what shepherds do, why sheep need so much care, and how Jesus is our Good Shepherd who seeks and saves His lost sheep. This episode helps kids understand that: We are the sheep — easily distracted, often wandering off. Jesus is the Good Shepherd — the one who goes after us, finds us, and carries us home. 0:07.0	The Good Shepherd. This is the Names of God Part 3 and comes from Luke chapter 15 verses 1 through 7
0:15.0	and John chapter 10 verse 11. We're continuing our special series called the names of God.
0:23.3	Last time, we learned that one of God's names means mighty. And we saw how mighty he is
0:31.8	when he created everything with just his words. Today, we're going to learn about another name,
0:41.3	The Good Shepherd.
0:43.3	You try saying it.
0:46.3	The Good Shepherd?
0:48.3	Great.
0:50.3	Okay, let's go ahead and jump right into today's story.
0:55.0	A Shepherd.
0:59.0	We are going to be hearing this word a lot today,
1:03.0	but it may not be something you're very familiar with,
1:06.0	because you may not see many shepherds where you live.
1:10.0	I know I don't.
1:11.6	So let me explain.
1:16.6	Back in Bible times, people didn't have fences or barns with big metal gates like farms do today.
1:24.6	Sheep would wander over hills and valleys, and it was the shepherd's job
1:30.3	to take care of them, to make sure they had food, water, and safety.
1:38.3	Shepherds led their sheep to green pastures to eat and to cool, quiet streams to drink.
1:53.3	At night, they'd count each sheep carefully.
1:59.3	One, two, three.
