So the Scott Fishbowl kicked off this week and it got me thinking about something that

I think doesn't get enough attention in fantasy football analysis.

It's a bunch of 12 team leagues with fans and analysts drafting against one another and

then there's a playoff that starts in week 13 but most importantly it's for a good

cause.

There's money being raised for the fantasy carous charity.

But every year Scott Fish who runs this massive massive thing, he puts different roles

in place that you generally don't find in other leagues.

This year you've got points that you're gaining and losing for completions and for

incompletions that quarterback, there's points per first down, there are a lot of different

rules that people aren't used to.

Now given the roster restrictions in the scoring you see a ton of different draft strategies.

All positions are basically drafted anywhere, it's unpredictable.

But this leads me to the point that I wanted to make to kick off today's show.

The thing that people don't think about enough in this type of format is how important it

is to read the room in order to extract value.

In any fantasy draft you want to be the one who starts the draft run, not finish it.
