My scent of the day today is completely inspired by the episode you are about to hear.

I am wearing none other than Glossier You. This is a scent that comes up

often on this podcast, and it's one that I feel really paved the way for so many of these

sort of trendy, irisy, pink peppery skin scents that are popping up left and right. You'll hear

all about the origin stories of this fragrance in this episode, but let me tell you how I always describe it,

just in case you are unfamiliar. I feel like Glossier You smells like the chicest hangover

of your life. Yes, I said what I said. I did say hangover, but I want you to understand I don't

use that term lightly. When I say hangover, I'm not talking about the kind where your friend is politely

or impolitely like Emma, please shower, eureka of tequila. This is of course not at all inspired

by true events. I mean like chic, okay? It's boozy, but it's bougie. It kind of smells,

and maybe you can relate to this, like your coworker who downplays how cool

they are in the office, but it's so obvious, right?

Like maybe you both show up for a 9 a.m. meeting, but the night prior, you cook dinner

and went to sleep at a reasonable hour. They, however, probably had a table at the most exclusive

club, only drink top shelf liquor, parted with celebrities, might not

have spent the night in their own bed, and only you know because you are their close friend

and maybe they shared that with you. To everyone else, they look perfectly quaffed, presentable,

showered, et cetera. However, there is a faint whisper of a little debauchery and booze,

but again, in this elevated way.

Maybe they're wearing a perfectly ironed shirt, but just one button is undone.
