| 0:23.0 | which is a Psalm of Asaph. And it goes like this. The mighty one, God, the Lord, speaks and summons |
| 0:30.6 | the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets. From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth. |
| 0:56.1 | Our God comes and will not be silent a fire devours before him and around him a tempest rages he summons the heavens above and the earth that he may judge his people gather to me this consecrated people who made a covenant with me by sacrifice, and the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for he is a God of justice. |
| 1:01.0 | That's one of those Psalms that looks at God and seems to be looking at His Majesty. |
| 1:04.9 | Now we're going to learn here in a little bit that God is not so pleased. |
| 1:08.4 | He is gathering his people, and he is going to give them a word of |
| 1:11.2 | rebuke. But first, let's look at this particular section here where we talk about God, the |
| 1:16.7 | mighty one, the Lord, summoning the people, perfect in beauty as he comes with this devouring |
| 1:22.0 | fire and this tempest raging, just this picture of this God coming in judgment. This is a terrifying vision of God. |
| 1:29.8 | This is an awe-inspiring vision of God. This is the God of power. This is the God of justice. |
| 1:36.4 | This is the God you don't want to be mad at you. And he is calling his people, he has consecrated |
| 1:42.8 | people, the people who have been set apart for him, |
| 1:46.2 | the people who have made promises, the people who have made a covenant. |
| 1:50.3 | And we are told that he is a God of justice. |
| 1:54.1 | Now, justice is something that we all tend to be a fan of when we're not the ones who did wrong. Obviously, when we do wrong, |
| 2:02.4 | we're more of a fan of a God of mercy. But when somebody else does wrong, when terrible things happen, |
| 2:09.2 | we cry out, why isn't there justice? But this is a God of justice coming, and it's a God of |
