Michael, welcome back to Real Talk with Zubi. How you doing? Great, great to be with you. Zubi,

0:04.0

great to see you again. Awesome. How are you doing? Really well. Um, personally well, worried about

0:10.5

how things are right now. So much is going on and it's hard to even report on all the different events.

0:17.4

And I'm concerned about our country and concerned about the world. but personally well. Yeah. So as we record this, we are just a couple days after the assassination

0:28.4

of Charlie Kirk. So I definitely want to talk about that. By the time this episode comes out,

0:34.7

I'm sure there are going to be new updates, so I don't want it to become

0:39.9

outdated. But what was your, what was your reaction? Where were you when you heard the news and

0:47.9

what was your immediate reaction? Horror and, you know, deep sadness. I have two kids and, you know, it's hard to even think about it.

0:58.5

You know, like those videos of him talking about his kids obviously had a big or had a big impact on me.

1:03.6

I had a similar experience to things to others, which is becoming almost like obsessive on social

1:08.7

media, like not being able to pull away from it.

1:12.7

The assassination itself, I mean, you realize like everybody's got their phone out and so you

1:17.4

quickly see this assassination. It was hard to avoid it on X. I was able to avoid the killing of

1:25.1

the Ukrainian refugee on. I was able to like not watch that and didn't want to see it.

1:30.6

But this one, it was just right there. So it was quite shocking to see it. And then to go on and see the

1:36.3

reaction to it, particularly from people on the left, I mean, that was kind of a secondary shock to see the joy that people had in celebrating the death of somebody.

1:49.6

It made me feel like the culture has made people more psychopathic, more psychopathological, more lacking empathy, which is something that we've seen in the society, I think

2:02.4

more is particularly related to social media. One of the characteristics of so-called Cluster B

2:07.3

personality disorders are people that have excess empathy for people in their in-group and then

2:13.5

lack of empathy for people on their out-group, which I think explains a lot of what, you know,

2:19.3

I've documented over the years, which is sort of an unhelpful level or pathological levels of

2:24.5

supposed compassion or empathy, which I think is actually fake empathy, and then just total,
