podcast I've had your compadre your side kick Daniel Franco you guys obviously own

burnt timber outfitters together Daniel Franco, you guys obviously own Burnt Timber Outfitters together.

You're based out of kind of Snowflake, Arizona.

He's based out of Heber and you guys for many, many years have punted together and guided together and make a good team up there at Burnt Timber Outfitters.

I want to talk today about 3C-Mule deer, 3C Meldir, 3C Elk, and then talk about Unit 1 Elk. All three of those topics

you're very familiar with, you know, having grown up in that country like getting

local perspective on you know how things are going and like hearing about those

hunk up there so first question I'd ask you, let's start

with Archery Elk season. I believe you were in unit one. How was Unit archery elk this year?

Well, Jay, to correct you, I did not have an archery elk hunter in unit 1,

I have 100 archery elk to last four years in unit one but this year I was over I was

over in unit three this year during the archery elk season so I didn't hunt archery

unit one this year.

Well, I want to ask you about your last four years in unit one as far as after the, obviously after the fire, and then we'll get to 3c but you've been able to find some good

bulls there in unit one and I'm just curious from your perspective having you know

born and raised up there you know hunted unit one prior to the burn and then obviously

hunting and guiding in the burn after the burn in unit one.

Describe the unit before and describe it after and maybe how the oak move around

and how the hunts are different are the same?

Well, first and foremost, you know, just the visibility side of that burn and Unit 1, it just opened it up extremely the,
