Summary

My kids are headed back to school soon, and they will be doing all sorts of assessments to see how they're doing in math and reading and writing. And this got me thinking: I need to do a series of mini-podcast episodes during this back-to-school season for moms to assess how they are doing, not with balancing equations or diagramming sentences (because I have a feeling most of us would fail those assessments 🥴), but to assess something way more important: our own levels of emotional wellbeing. Just like last week, this week, Monday-Friday, I will be publishing a mini-episode to introduce you to each of the principles I teach in my Self-Assured Motherhood course, a framework I created for overwhelmed moms. Each principle is an important part of emotional well-being and can help you in your personal assessment of how you're doing. Today's principle is Gather the Good. As you go along with this mini-series, you can use this self-assessment I've created to visually assess how you're doing in each of the principles we discuss. I hope you find this mini-series helpful as you take time to consider your own emotional well-being. I'm rooting for you! *** Announcements: Self-Assessment for Moms: Click here to download my FREE self-assessment to go along with each of the 9 principles we'll be discussing through the mini-series. **Everyone who downloads this assessment will receive a special discount for SAM! I use this assessment as part of my nine month Selfishred Motherhood Program and I'm

0:41.2

thrilled to make it more broadly available to all of my podcast

0:44.8

listeners so that you can figure out how you are doing emotionally as we head

0:49.8

into another busy school year. One thing that I haven't really mentioned in this

0:54.2

series yet is that my nine principals of self- assured motherhood

0:57.8

coincide with three major pillars. If you've downloaded the self-assessment you've seen this visually

1:04.4

because I organized all of the principals into a VIN diagram and remember this is a

1:10.0

back-to-school series so let's freshen up on what a VIN diagram is because maybe you haven't

1:16.9

made one since elementary school. These are those diagrams with three big circles that overlap in the middle so that you can see the

1:25.4

relationship between sets of things and how they're similar and different and

1:29.0

how they correspond and support each other and where they overlap and in my self-assured motherhood visual the three circles of the VIN diagram

1:37.0

are labeled with my three major pillars. Know yourself, honor your needs, and love your people.

1:44.0

And they overlap in the middle to create a self-assured mom.

1:48.1

So basically, when you know yourself,

1:50.3

you honor your needs and love your people, the result is a feeling of inner peace,

1:55.6

confidence, and happiness that I believe is the definition of self-assurance.
