Susan, I'm delighted to be here and I'm going to jump right in because there's so much to talk about.

So I want everybody who is

listening to think and step into the shoes of their child who went off to

school today. And just remember as you are that child or your child

that you're carrying your portable office on your back

all day long, holding everything you need

for every subject.

And every 45 minutes, six or seven times a day, five days a week,

you have to pack and unpack your books, finders, notebooks, planners, pens, pencils, iPads, calculator, graph paper, and anything else that you need for class.

You need to get what you need from your backpack,

so sometimes you have to dig through several to get what you need from your backpack.

So sometimes you have to dig through several candy wrappers,

a cell phone, a sweatshirt that you're meant to leave at home
