Shameless Mom Academy, we're talking with Heather Brooker. Heather is a mother, actress, and Emmy

award-winning writer. She currently hosts the popular podcast, Motherhood in Hollywood, where she blends her signature

sense of humor with a healthy dose of reality about parenthood and the entertainment business.

Heather's passion for the industry shines through in her interviews and comedic writing.

She's appeared on shows like Lopez, The Office, Fresh Off the Boat, the Mindy Project,

and is a contributor to the Huffington Post and mom.com

when the mood strikes. This was a super fun interview to do. I had never met Heather before

talked to her, but we completely hit it off. In fact, our pre-interview went way longer than

normal because we were just chatting, chatting, chatting about a million different things.

So basically her BFFs. She doesn't know, but it's okay. I had a great time talking with her. What really stood out to me

in this conversation is I felt like she kind of debunked some of the myths about perceptions,

especially around body image in Hollywood, also just the reality of what Hollywood is.

And I feel like, you know, we feel like what we see in the media, you know,

in people.com or especially if you're following celebrities on social media, we feel like

there's this perception of so much glitz and glamour in Hollywood.

And Heather's here to tell us that 99% of that is not true.
