Summary

The American life expectancy is currently 79, which sounds great until you realize that is the 26th in line worldwide. Despite being one of the most developed and wealthy nations in the world, the US system is not only ridiculously overpriced (at least 2x), it’s also ineffective. It’s a double fail with upstream and downstream effects that are impossible to even begin to quantify. This wonky system was built post World War II with financial incentives going to everyone except the average citizen, and while no one has a clear cut solution, everyone agrees that things must change.

My guest on the show is a medical doctor and industry insider-turned-whistle blower, and his insights provide an optimistic 10+ year outlook for change.

0:44.3	based on access to health care, which really seems like a tragedy in such a wealthy nation.
0:49.2	I don't pretend to have any solution or any political leaning in this. I just have a lot of questions and my guest on the show today actually has a lifetime worth of experience as an insider working in the medical community as a medical doctor and a researcher and
1:03.4	working for pharmaceuticals and he's now flipped the script and he is turning the lens
1:07.2	on the industry itself and trying to figure out some some active solutions that we could
1:11.2	think about modeling other countries,
1:13.5	looking at ways that perhaps the government could step in and

1:24.0	go when you're ill and wow it's effective. We've got pills and surgeries and machines and
1:28.4	they're getting better and better every day. At the same time in any hospital in any
1:32.4	clinic in any medical facility the health of the nurses and the doctors and the staff is
