Texas in August 22, 1930 to a teacher and a nurse, living modestly and preferring time outdoors

to being in the classroom. Fenn's summers were the highlight of his childhood. For years, he spent

fishing in Yellowstone National Park and hunting for arrowheads with his father.

In an interview with the New York Times in 2017, Fend said he found his first arrowhead when he
