Summary

What if the reason you're not losing weight has nothing to do with discipline… and everything to do with how you're approaching fat loss?

In today's episode, I'm joined by Nikki — a mom of three (with an 8-month-old!) — who went from feeling lost in her postpartum body to losing 14 pounds while balancing real life, kids, and everything in between using our Slim Down, Eat Up approach.

If you want to lose fat but need a simple, realistic plan you can actually stick to, this episode breaks down the exact shifts Nikki made:

👉🏻 Why "eating healthy" isn't the same as eating for fat loss (and what actually moves the scale)

👉🏻 The simple nutrition changes that helped her stay full, reduce cravings, and stay consistent – while loving her meals

👉🏻 How to approach your calorie target without under-eating or restarting every week

👉🏻 The mindset shifts that keep you going even when progress feels slow

👉🏻  How to track progress in a way that keeps you focused (instead of spiraling)

If your weight feels stuck and you're ready to lose 10+ pounds without overcomplicating it, you'll love Nikki's story.

Nikki is someone who has done a variety of our programs. She is also someone who she's going to, I don't want to steal her thunder, but is someone who didn't really struggle with her weight before having children. And, you know, that can have its own struggles when you kind of don't identify with someone who struggles with weight and diet and eating. And then all of a sudden, oh my gosh, I have to lose weight. What do I do? So I feel like you guys are going to really resonate with Nikki's stories, her tips and tricks.

0:54.4

And obviously we're going to talk about how much weight she's lost to because it's very

0:57.9

inspirational with all the things that she's struggling at home. So welcome Nikki to the show.

Hello. I'm so happy to be here. I am pumped you're here. We are, we are two people that I feel

1:08.3

like I see all of your amazing posts and you're showing up and you're working out and you're showing the food that you're eating. I love when you tag me on Instagram. It's like so cool. I love it. No, I love an accountability post too. You know, thinking back to when you first began your weight loss journey, we were just talking off camera, but you were someone who didn't really identify as struggling with your weight, you know, before it sounds like having children.

1:37.3

What was it like having to get honest about, oh my gosh, like I don't feel like myself?

1:43.4

Like, what do I do as someone who never had felt that way to this extent before?

1:49.0

I mean, I felt very lost and confused.

1:53.3

And so much of our identities can be how we always were.

1:57.7

And I literally was athletic growing up.

2:00.7

I played volleyball. I was a dancer.

2:02.6

I was very into fitness post-college, like figuring out healthy meals and posting them all over my

2:08.3

Instagram. And I was in my fittest having my first daughter, who is seven years old. It was a goal of

2:15.7

mine to be very healthy going into my pregnancy. And I did that. And

2:19.7

then I gained 42 pounds with her. And it rocks your world. You're like, I was healthy. This is what you're

2:27.9

rewarding me with. I felt like free and confident and beautiful being pregnant and I loved it, but I couldn't believe I gained that

2:34.8

much weight. And then afterwards, I'm like, okay, I guess I'll just get back to my healthy eating

2:39.4

and exercising. And I lost a little bit of weight before getting pregnant with my son, but then

2:45.3

not really much. So I had it. So it sounds like it didn't immediately come off for you.
