Summary

Hey! It is Natalie Jill! Today on Midlife Conversations I am chatting with Caroline Pearce about Vibrational training, something I've been instinctively practicing for years without fully grasping its benefits. Initially, I was drawn to it for its soothing effects, especially as I dealt with disc issues in my lower back. While larger machines were common at the gym, having a smaller one at home has been a game-changer. I love using it for planks, functional exercises, and recovery.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • The science and benefits behind vibration training

  • How to address visceral fat and bone density

  • The unique advantages of Power Plate

  • Why you should use vibration training in midlife

in midlife. I've got Carolyn Pierce on today, and she's a former international athlete,

1:01.2

and she's a, did Bob sled and track and feel pretty cool, pretty cool. But she's also a power plate

1:13.1

because one of the age optimizing, as I call it, I don't know, I don't love the word biohacking,

1:19.5

but I love saying age optimizing. One of the age optimizing tools that I've used for years is a power plate,

1:24.8

which some of you have seen these in the gym. It's like a vibrating plate. It actually feels really good to stretch on it, work out on it. Even just to sit your butt on it, it feels really good. I love it. I use it in recovery with my back and all types of things. I now have one of my house and I wanted to go a lot deeper with somebody who's an expert here to explain not just why it feels good, but why it's doing these

so I was a kid and competing for Great Britain in the heptathlon, which is the seven track and field events. And they recruit a lot of track athletes into bobsled. And in the UK, where I'm from, we recognise the accent, we don't have a lot of ice. But we have a university, Bath University that has a dedicated ice track. So Bob's head ice track where you can practice the push.
