0:00.0	Peter LeBenda, thank you for coming. How did you get into all of this history and in the occult, Nazis, UFOs and everything?
0:15.8	Yeah, well, I was born in the Bronx, which probably explains about 50% of your question, because in the Bronx, we got everybody, we got everything going on, we got all kinds of stuff.
0:28.2	And back in the, you know, I grew up in the 50s and 60s, so it was, you know, duck and cover days.
0:34.0	We thought we were going to be bombed by the Russians.
0:36.0	There was going to be, you know, all this stuff. So you learned about the Cold War was a major thing. I grew up Catholic at the time.
0:44.2	So you're in church praying for the conversion of the Russians to Christianity because they're
0:49.0	godless communists. Oh, wow. Right? So you're being, you know, sort of indoctrinated with this idea that politics and religion are almost the same thing. I mean, I'm in church praying against communists. You know, we're doing, you know, these monthly sessions in all of us. And I'm thinking, you know, eventually I'm growing up and, you know, I'm hiding from Russian bombs. We're ducking under our desks when they do the air raid sirens.
1:13.2	All this stuff, you're growing up with that.
1:15.6	And the McCarthy era.
1:17.7	And then suddenly out of nowhere comes Jack Kennedy, right?
1:20.9	And now suddenly it's like a brand new day.
1:22.7	Jack Kennedy is saying, no, we're gonna straighten this out.
1:25.7	And then there's the Cuban Missile Crisis. Right. So we then there's the Cuban Missile Crisis right so we're
1:29.3	living through the Cuban Missile Crisis and at any moment we think it's going to be mutual
1:34.7	assured destruction we're all going to die right but I had a friend in school who was totally
1:42.3	100% convinced we're all going to die and I bet him one
1:46.1	million dollars this was in 1961 62 Cuban missile crisis I bet him one million dollars
1:53.6	that Kennedy would get us out of it for some reason I thought Kennedy was the man
1:57.5	was the first time I became politically aware focused on a politician,
2:02.8	you know, focused on a person who was not Jesus or, you know, the Soviets. And this guy was
2:09.1	going to do it. And, you know, I never got, I never collected the million. I'm still owed, right?
2:14.1	But, you know, Tommy Hale, if you're listening, you owe me that million dollars.
