And I'm Greg Cut. I write about Rock and Roll for the Chicago Tribune.

Today on the world's only rock and roll talk show, we have a command performance from the lead singer and songwriter

for the formerly great band Granddaddy.

It pains us to say that.

Indeed it does.

Jason Lydell with Granddaddy made a bunch of really fine records, broke up the band,

went out on a solo tour, and we were able to catch him for an interview

and a performance here at the Jim and K-Mavie studio.

And I got to say, Jim, Lido, you really hear the beauty of those songs underneath all that

orchestration on the grand daddio. Powerful, wonderful things here. Later in the show
