We have a very special guest today, Dr. Benjamin Hamby.

You're a doctor of philosophy.

We'll get into all that.

We were talking before, and you grew up in the shire as my

friends who live up there like to call it um but they're all they're all nerds so although you're a

doctor philosophy so i guess kind of probably a bit of a nerd too but more so a reader um you're talking

about um before how you majored in business but

kind of discovered this identity i guess as a philosopher as somebody who was a who wanted to know

things who want to like to read you know all that stuff um so tell me tell me tell me tell me more about that that process of like kind of, you know, all that stuff. So tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me more about that, that process of,

like, kind of discovering, you know.

Well, the word, the word philosophy, so the word philosophy comes from these two Greek words,

these ancient Greek words, philos meaning love and Sophia meaning wisdom.

And now I didn't learn that until I was formally studying it.

But when I took my first philosophy class as a sophomore in college,

I realized that this was the kind of person that I was, that even though I hadn't formally studied philosophy

and I knew nothing about the history of ideas, I approached life with this sense of wonder

and curiosity and asking big questions and kind of never really being satisfied with the answers.

And so I kind of instantly fell in love with the love of wisdom. And I had some great professors

too and they were real inspiration to me and

and continued to be as I continued to study it moving on. I graduated from college with my
