keeping America safe in an era of new superpowers, new weapons, and new threats.

The basic idea undergirding this conversation is that after 20 years,

defined by an age of terror after 9-11,

we're transitioning to what they call an age of danger,

focused on great power rivalry, nuclear threats,

and the distinct possibility of Black Swan events like COVID-19 in 2020

that forced us to throw out the entire playbook and assumptions that.

Tom and I discuss how the US should posture itself during this transition moment

with plenty of callbacks to mistakes we've made during previous transition moments.
