Where did you grow up?

So I grew up in Connecticut.

Connecticut was not that important in my life,

I feel like.

And then I ended up going to boarding school

in Massachusetts.

That's where I really started to see that the world was a lot bigger than my little suburban life in Connecticut.

And that there were, I mean, I always knew there were people suffering and that that was a real part of life,

but I think at that school it was something that was encouraged to be talked about and discussed and problem solved.

And we would have meetings about diversity and a national coming out day and having someone come

in and talk about racism and the world and what it means and what does it mean for me as like a young white female to be living in this world and what is my opinion on this and what is my position and really finding a voice and I really felt I felt

compelled to help make the world a better place after leaving there so I was really intent when I was on, you know, planning going to school,

going to college. Of course, if you go to boarding school, you plan to go to college. There's not really a question there,

but maybe there should have been, but there wasn't so I when it came to applying for colleges and

looking at what I wanted to do I pretty much stayed in the northeast area

looking at places like Connecticut College and but so I I didn't really
