And today we're talking the coolest filmmaker around Jim Jarmouche.

Can I begin with a personal anecdote about Jim Jarmouche?

Do it. So the first one I ever saw was coffee and cigarettes. I was 15 years old. It was in 2004.

And I saw it because I was with my late Uncle Ted, God rest his soul. And we were going to go see

Fahrenheit 9-11. And it was sold out. It was sold out everywhere. And we were at the movie theater. And we were going to go see Fahrenheit 9-11 and it was sold out. It was sold out everywhere.

And we were at the movie theater and we were going to see something else. And I said,

oh, how about coffee and cigarettes? Bill Murray's in it. Now my uncle Ted, I love Ghostbusters.

I swear to you, my Uncle Ted watched Walker, Texas Ranger every day. He watched Magnum PI every

day on reruns. Had no idea what he was getting

into. I'm painting, I'm painting a stereotypical picture of a man with, with taste that is not

Jim Jarmish movies. We watched the movie. When it was over, he said to me, that was the worst piece of

shit I've ever seen. I can't believe you dragged me to that.

That was so boring.

Nothing happened in that. And for years, until his passing, he would bring up coffee and cigarettes as this incredible, I mean, he was, by the end, he was joking. But he was mad that day. But did you want to be like, I don't know what the movie was? Yeah. And I was, but that began, I think, for me, an interest in Jim Jarmish.

Oh, because you're like. to be like, I don't know what the movie was. Yeah. And I was, but that began, I think, for me,

an interest in Jim Jarmish. Oh, because you're like, if you didn't like it that much. I want, I think I kind of wanted to spite him at that point. It's like, I'm going to get really into Jim Jarmish. So I did when I was a teenager. I never got into Jim Jarmish. Yeah. Did you like him at all?

Like, what's your experience?

I like him. But Jarmish. Yeah. Did you like him at all? Like, what,

what's your experience? What have you seen? But I, I've seen almost all of them. But it's not someone I feel very passionate about. And I when I see people feel passionate about him, I go, that's nice. You know what, Jim, is it Jim Jarmouche or Jim Jarmish? I always get it wrong. I believe it is Jarmish.
