Can the Catholic faith cure racism?

For a long time, but especially since the death of George Floyd,

the conversation about race in the United States and around the world

has been at a heightened level.

We've done a little bit of broadcasting

about what the Catholic Church has to say about that,

but probably not enough.

And so we invited Deacon Harald Burke-Sivers

known around the world as the dynamic deacon.

To talk with us about a Catholic approach to understanding

and even more than understanding,

finally curing and overcoming the racism that is rampant here

in the United States and around the world,

the racism that is sometimes within us and is all around us.

How do we fight it?

And not in just a way that makes us feel better

or feel that we're on the right side,

but in a way that actually has a hope

of moving us to a world where whatever the color of a person's skin,

whatever the particular texture of their hair,

everyone is treated as a beloved child of God.
